New Awana Year

Well, time is here again for AWANA!!!!! We can’t wait to get started. Tonight starts the new year, and we have a lot of exciting things planned for the year. We would like to welcome all of the new guys joining AWANA, our new leaders, and also our new co-commander, Mr. Darrin Dulin.

We are planning on having a theme night every three weeks, starting next week with “SCHOOL SPIRIT” night. Show up wearing clothes showing your school spirit. This should be a fun night, and our guest speaker is the assistant football coach of Mooreville High School. Come join us, and hear his message from God.

We are here for you, always remember that. It is God alone who strenghthens us. If you need us for any reason, our numbers are…

2007-2008 Awana Year

Did you know that 85% of all people who DO NOT accept Jesus Christ by age 18 never will?   WOW, we have a huge mission field right here in our own church, so please be praying about where God could use you to help reach Bethel’s children for Christ.  We still need 2 Leaders for our Puggles (2 year olds), 4 Leaders for our Sparkies (Kindergarten - 2nd Grade), 4 Leaders for 3rd & 4th Grade Boys, 3 Leaders for 5th and 6th grade boys,  and 1 Leader for 5th and 6th grade girls.   We appreciate everyone who has already signed up for next year and we look forward to watching God do awesome things!!  PLEASE PRAY DAILY FOR THIS MINISTRY.  Thank you, Bryan & Laura

Awana Kids’ Choir

The Awana Kids’ Choir will present the musical “Down by the Creek Bank” on Sunday evening, August 26 at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Rehearsals will be each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. and each Sunday afternoon at 5:00 p.m. until the night of the program.  Please pray for Kelly Loague and Cindy Snipes as they lead this musical.  Have a great summer!!

Commander’s Blog

We would like to say THANK YOU to our dedicated AWANA leaders, club directors, game directors, music directors, and secretaries for doing such a fabulous job at striving to reach Bethel’s boys and girls with the gospel of Christ this year.  We also appreciate Bro. Tracy for having this vision for our children.  A big thanks goes out to all the clubbers parents for your support during this year.  Also, thank you so much Bethel Baptist Church, Bro. Tracy, and Bro. Martin for allowing us this awesome privilege to serve God through AWANA.  God has really taught us so much this year.  The main lesson we have learned is that our clubbers should feel God’s love when they walk through our church doors.  If we have the love of Christ in our hearts, then God will love those children through us.  We really can be World Changers for Christ by reaching one person at a time.  Our mission is to prepare children to know, love, and serve Christ.

Love,

Bryan & Laura

BIBLE VS CELL PHONE

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone.

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets?

What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it?

What if we flipped through it several times a day?

What if we used it like we couldn’t live without it?

What if we gave it to kids as gifts?

What if we used it as we traveled?

What if we used it in case of an emergency?

What if we upgraded it to get the latest version?

This is something to make you go .hmmm. where is my Bible?

Oh, and one more thing . . . . . . . Unlike our cell phone, we don’t ever have to worry about our Bible being disconnected because Jesus already paid the bill!
